How Your Support Helps
Stumptown Syndicate is the sponsoring organization for many educational and community programs. We are a nonprofit organization and we rely on public support for our continued existence and to make these awesome events happen.
How is My Money Used?
The money from your donation goes into our general fund and is used to support all the great programs we do. This includes venue, food, audiovisual, insurance, and other costs for our volunteer-run, community-oriented, peer-to-peer learning events.
Is Contribution Tax-Deductible?
Yes. Stumptown Syndicate is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Contributions to Stumptown Syndicate are tax-deductible in the U.S.
What Awesomeness Will Result from my Support?
Every year, Stumptown Syndicate supports or directly hosts 2-4 events in Portland. Hundreds of participants have grown, personally and professionally, via Open Source Bridge, WhereCampPDX, Ignite Portland, BarCamp Portland, and the user groups we support. Our work on Calagator keeps the community connected, and our focus on inclusion and diversity has helped everyone in Portland’s tech scene benefit.
Your support makes it possible for us to hold more free events, offer more discount passes to ticketed events, and potentially improve our events with accommodations like childcare and travel scholarships.
Becoming a supporter also shows how important technology education and community building is to you. And, it gives you an additional role in helping our programs succeed. We will be reaching out to our supporters on a regular basis to give us feedback on how we can run our programs better and what programs we should add, including how we can help you do your own great things.
