Calling for new board members

Earlier this year, Stumptown Syndicate directors voted to change the board term from three years to one, which means: we’re currently searching for new members! At the moment, we’re looking to reevaluate our programs and want to work together with new board members to solidify our activities and overall direction as Stumptown Syndicate goes into its 10th year.

If you’re interested in cultivating a resilient and sustainable ecosystem of diverse and inclusive technology communities around the Pacific Northwest, we’d love to chat more! Note that you do NOT need previous board experience. We can provide training and just ask that you’re located within commuting distance of Portland, Oregon. And, we strongly encourage people of color and marginalized folx to reach out.

How we work:

  • 1 board meeting / month (attended in person unless arrangements are made in advance)
  • 1 board dinner / month (non-work, focused on getting to know and support each other)
  • 1 yearly board retreat (usually 2 days spent out of town)
  • Approximately 2-4 hours weekly spent on Syndicate work, including time checking Slack / email

The application deadline is Saturday, November 17 at 11:59pm:

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to!
